Who Will Be There?
Over the past 5 years the decentralized community of Awaken has met to seek the Lord as an organic group, with vision of seeing our God use us to be part of waking up the church, to the reality that the God of the Bible is the God of today, in order to reach the world with the greatness of his name.
The common denominator between everyone is that they want to stay active in their relationship and walk with Jesus but find it difficult to find like minded people around them. Awaken is simply a network of these people who have the same desire in order to keep them accountable, remind them of truth, and never feel alone in their walk with the Lord.
People in this group range from school teachers, lawyers, musicians, students, parents, “missionaries”, and everything in between. We gather together to be encouraged and challenged to keep following and also grow from one another with new platforms and tools in order to build missional communities back in our home fronts, if that be over seas or state side.
Last years gathering took place on Aug 1-8 2011 in Santa Barbara, California. It focused on being a launching pad for genuine missional communities to be birthed on the home fronts of the people coming.
